Thursday, November 19, 7pm, Baruch College: What’s the Right Thing to Do?
Michael Sandel is so well known for being successful at engaging students in large classes that Ken Bain’s What the Best College Teachers Do (Harvard, 2004) describes Sandel’s highly interactive lectures for more than 1000 Harvard undergrads as models of effective teaching and learning. His topic is justice, and he has just published a new book, Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do? (Farrar, Straus, and Giroux, 2009). The book and Sandel’s lectures are the focus of a new PBS TV series; hence a series of public interviews (Today Show, Charlie Rose, etc.), a major piece in the NYTimes (on September 25), and a national speaking tour.

Sandel’s New York appearance will be at Baruch College on Thursday, November 19, at 7pm in Mason Hall (17 Lexington Avenue/23rd Street). You can gain a sense of what his approach to teaching is like via justiceharvard.org.)

Sandel’s presentation is co-sponsored by the Office of the Provost at Baruch College and by The Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity. It is free and open to the public. Please come and please invite your students. And please RSVP…

RSVP: http://zicklin.baruch.cuny.edu/centers/cci/events/justice-what2019s-the-right-thing-to-do

Azmeh’s expressive clarinet meets Kyle Sanna’s rustic guitar, soaring at times over the dynamic and volatile backdrop of John Hadfield’s percussion and Josh Myers’ double bass. Each band member has come from varied backgrounds to add their personal flair to this ensemble, resulting in a thoroughly exciting and rewarding listening experience.
