Japanese Samurai Swordplay and Lecture  殺陣の公演と講演

 

Please come for a lecture and performance of the most traditional and dramatic form of Japanese samurai swordplay, “Tate,” on Friday, February 16th from 2 – 3:30 PM (details below).  The Geido Tate Hato-ryu of NY dojo will be demonstrating this expressive style, as was popular in Akira Kurosawa films, performed primarily by women.

Co-organized by Hunter College’s Japanese Program of the Department of Classical and Oriental Studies AND the Consulate General of Japan in New York.
