The Albert Simic Scholarship for Actors

The Albert Simic Scholarship for Actors will be available in the spring 2009 semester to an incoming CUNY Baccalaureate student who will be pursuing a concentration involving acting (for theatre and/or film).  The ideal applicant will be an experienced actor seeking to advance his/her acting career; students new to acting may also be considered.  The student selected will receive $2,000.  Applicants should submit a 1-2 page essay describing their acting experience, the focus of their area of concentration, and their plans for post-graduation, along with their resume (indicating membership in one of the acting unions –SAG/AFTRA/AEA/ACTRA, etc., if applicable).  The deadline for applying for this scholarship is Monday, January 5, 2009.  Prospective students should simultaneously follow the instructions for applying to CUNY BA as posted on the website (www.cunyba.cuny.edu) and if not already matriculated in a CUNY college, must also apply to CUNY (www.cuny.edu).

Do I pay a different tuition rate if I am in the CUNY Baccalaureate Program?

No, you pay tuition (which you do at your home college) at the same rate as you would if you were not enrolled in this Program.
